Tomorrow Tomorrow It's Mushies Tomorrow!

Oh yeah....had my post op visit today and Nurse Frank told me things are great. According to their scales, I'm down 25 since my last visit. Woo hoo! He took off three of the five steri strips and the incisions look good. I can take off the other two steri strips on Monday. He said the shoulder pain is an unfortunate complication and while some don't get it, some do. (Lucky me!) He did say that it will absolutely go away and while it's there slightly today, it's NOTHING like yesterday or Wednesday. Then came the good news....I can start mushies tomorrow! YEAH YEAH YEAH! I'm planning to have scrambled eggs for breakfast (1 or 2 depending on if I get too full with 1), maybe cottage cheese with some pureed pears for lunch and fat free refried beans and cheese for dinner. May sound all wrong to you, but HEAVEN to me!

For my banded friends....am I supposed to blend the cottage cheese, or is it mushy enough on its own?

The medication (two tablets) for the thrush seems to be working. Hoping it continues to get better tomorrow. Nurse Frank said if it's not better by Monday that they can call in a mouthwash for me.

Mom leaves tomorrow....so sad. I know she needs to get back to her own life, but it's been so amazing to have her here and she has been the best nurse a girl could have.

Back to work on Monday. Excited about the social aspects of work, hoping that the shoulder pain continues to get better so that I can really enjoy being back and most importantly last the day!

Ooh, last part of good news, my first fill is scheduled for September 4th! Woo hoo!

  1. Sounds like you are going great guns! lol Regarding the cottage cheese and the scrambled eggs, they should be runny enough NOT to be able to be picked up by a fork. lol. It's exciting when we progress to the next stage.

  2. mmm I remember being SO excited for mushies!

my obsession was mashed potatoes layered with refried beans and cheese. If you read my whole blog you would have heard me singing their praises. Enjoy and congrats!
