Cons:
- Going "under" and not knowing what to expect when I wake up
- PB'ing and slime'ing
- Pain from surgery
- Loose skin from weight loss
- Cost of shopping for new clothes (which I totally would've done anyway)
- Explaining to guys on a date why I eat so little
- Giving up Diet Dr. Pepper (he's the only doctor I have a real relationship with today)
- Giving up jennitini's (otherwise known as stoli orange and tonic)
Pros:
- Not being the invisible fat girl
- Getting a new wardrobe (shopping spree at goal weight is my gift to myself)
- Shopping anywhere I want without worrying if something will fit
- Shopping with my girlfriends since I won't have to go to the fat store
- Wearing cute dresses without spanx
- Wearing knee high boots
- Not worrying whether or not I'll fit into an airplane seat and if the seatbelt will buckle
- Being "checked out" by men
- DATING again and not hating it
- Being healthy and not worrying about dying too young
- Resolving this issue that has been surrounding me since I was a child
- Posting pictures on facebook that aren't three years old (when I was thinner)
- Being 160 for the first time since I was in my teens

ReplyDeleteI'm so so excited for you and your upcoming surgery! I just read all of your entries, and you're approaching this with all the right info and attitude... I can't speak for everyone, but even on the tough days, this is the best thing I have EVER done for myself.
Once we're close to goal we can go on a shopping spree together!

I think you are going to find that the con list items aren't really a big deal after you have surgery. It will be interesting to see what you post about them after you get to good restriction and are well on your WL way! The 160s are finally 'round the bend for me . . . only 5.5 lbs to go! A year ago (pre-band), that seemed just so impossible to me!

I agree with Catherine on the con list - not such a big deal - especially soda for me - I was a 3 soda a day girl... haven't had one since January and don't miss it at all! the 45+ pounds is MORE than enough to motivate... Good Luck! Thanks for following me so I found out about your blog!
