First Day Back at Work
First day back was great! I had client meetings almost immediately which is always good because the chaos keeps your mind off of food! Speaking of food, I did well today and wasn't really hungry until dinner. I had 1/2 cup cottage cheese for breakfast, 1/2 cup tuna for lunch, 1/2 cup sugar free jello (too sweet!) and the noodleless lasagna for dinner (1/2 cup fat free ricotta cheese, 1/4 cup prego sauce, 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese). Also had some greek yogurt with pureed peaches for dessert, but probably only 1/4 cup. That was 600 calories. For my banded friends, how many calories were you eating post op? 600 calories seems like so little....

Jen ! Congrats on your first day back and on reaching your 10% YAY !! WOOHOO !!!
ReplyDeleteI go back to work tmrw, still on liquids though. I guess I'll start counting calories once I get on mushies and I guess I also need to get acquainted with cottage cheese !!
KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK GIRLIE !!!
GREAT news, Jen!!! I didn't ever count calories... was told not to worry in the early stages anyways since it's more about healing than losing weight at this point.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you did a great job of settling back in.
ReplyDeleteI like your noodleless lasagna recipe. I will definitely be trying that bad boy when I can have solids.
I know, 600 seems crazy low to me, too. I keep thinking of all the muscle my body must be eating... yikes. Can't wait to up it a bit and start weight training again.
once I hit mushies I was getting at least 1000 calories a day. I was never full though, had little restriction, and had to stop myself from eating more. 600 is real low, so if you find yourself unable to eat more food, and want to get some more calories, the horrible protein shake might be an option. Do you think are getting enough protein with so few calories? You might be.
ReplyDeleteAmy - I just spoke with my Nutritionist and she said I should totally up my calorie intake, so I'm going to do at least 1000 a day going forward. It's interesting that she says in her guide I should be eating 2-3 meals a day and that each should be 1/2 cup to 1 cup. If that's the case, I'd have to be eating Taco Bell for every meal to get to 1,000 calories, so I'm going to the higher calorie content, but more meals each day. Hopefully it will get the scale moving moving moving! NO PROTEIN SHAKES! With only 600 calories yesterday I ended up with 73 grams of protein. I will not lose my hair, I will not lose my hair, I will not lose my hair..... ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat is good to know! And once I got off liquids I never did protein shakes again either. I got enough in the cheese and meat I was eating.
ReplyDeleteI could possibly have some bad news for you...the hair still might come out! (but I like you positive thought there). Now I dont know if there is any proof, and my hairdresser is way out there in crazyland, but she said in her years of experience, she thinks hair loss is also tied to surgery that requires anastheshia (spelling?). She said that with her clients, about 3 months after surgery is when she sees hair loss. Mine is still coming out, but I have noticed less baldness...I think I am lucky that mine grows back so quick and I started with lots of it!
So glad to hear that you are back to work and doing wonderfully! Keep on keepin' on!
ReplyDeleteSarah
I just found your blog and I'm excited to see your progress in the upcoming days/weeks/months! It will be amazing.
ReplyDeletethat lasagna sounds so good! i'm glad your nutritionist told you to up your calories a little (at least your body won't be in SUCH a shock when you can eat solids and get more calories in). On the hair front.. I had super, super thick hair before.. and now my hair is magically thin. I don't mind it because thick hair is hard to deal with but I definitely lost some!
