Sunday and an Update

Hi Ladies -

Hope everyone is doing well! A quick shout out to Miss Sarah who hit Onederland today!! She is such a huge inspiration to me with her attitude towards healthy weight loss and running, so I was thrilled to see that scale picture this morning!

Let's see - NYC bandsters, we're on for Sunday. Dos Caminos 50th and 3rd at 12:30. Can't wait to see all of you there!

Things are going well for me. The job is getting to be a bit crazy but that's to be expected. I had a great "date" last night with Julia. We went to the MoMA to see the Tim Burton exhibit which was AMAZING! We had dinner there at the cafe - prix fixe meal for $25 + the cost of wine. I had a beet and goat cheese salad, oxtail ragout (short ribs essentially) with gnocchi and a pear crumb for dessert (well 1/4 of it). I gained two pounds. HA! I've gotten to the point where I can't let it get me down. I have to start moving again = C25k week four starts again tomorrow. I have to keep drinking water, I've definitely been slacking there. What I'm finding is this odd paradox:

  • I'm getting thinner. Thinner for me = Greater confidence, a desire to get out of my house more, spend time with girlfriends and dream of boys.
  • All of this equates to going out in Manhattan which generally involves dinner and/or drinking especially in the winter when walking in the park isn't exactly heartwarming!
  • Dinner and/or drinking at some point does indeed conflict with losing weight.
This leads of course into this weekend. Dinner with a friend in town from LA tonight, brunch to meet bff's fantastic new boyfriend tomorrow morning, drinks with a friend in town tomorrow night, bandster brunch (which I'm so excited for) on Sunday. So, Monday = detox. No alcohol, no dinners out for at least a week. 100 ounces of water a day. Hoping to see 18(something...OMG that is so exciting) by next Friday!!

  4. I find that too - suddenly two pounds is SO EASY to put on lol... where is the fun and fairness in that. I guess as long as you had fun getting there, then maybe that's the payoff. And you're right - don't let it get you down (speaking for myself too!!!) because you know you will blow it off again. Great chart - had a giggle.
