Fill...

First off, thanks for the supportive comments e.g. boy and job. You ladies continue to be simply amazing. xoxo

Had my fill with Dr. Fielding this morning. I had only lost a pound in the month since I'd been there last. I definitely look at the loss as a positive, but I had been losing on average about 10 pounds between appointments, so it was a bit disappointing. Dr. F is so nice, told me that I was a rock star (which always makes me feel better...you're not alone on the wanting to impress the doc Amy). Anyway, I explained that I had four cookies (again big ole cookies, not oreos) the other day and 3 scoops of ice cream last night. He noted that I had only had teeny fills the last two times (.1 each) and that we should do a proper fill today, so he gave me .5 and I'm now up to 7.4 in my 10cc band.

Prior to going in (my appt was at 9:30am) I had most of a large iced coffee. I drank a bit more of it post fill and a small glass of water. The last two times, I did the water test after my fill and had no gurgling. Gurgling is always a good restriction sign for me. Today, good gurgling. I was worried that .5 might be an overfill, but I trust Dr. F and I had been really honest about the fact that I was tight last week with my period but felt I could eat tons this week. I left the hospital, got in a cab to work. By the time I got here, I ran to the bathroom and threw up a ton of coffee flavored slime. Ugh. Good news is that I immediately felt better.

So...I think I might be overfilled. BUT I'm not 100% sure. Here's the deal. I had the entire iced coffee beforehand and am usually tight in the mornings, then I got a big fill. It may have been fine had I not been drinking coffee right up to the fact. So, my plan is to be really honest with myself and listen to my body today. If I'm feeling overfilled tomorrow morning I'll head back to get some taken out. For right now, I'm feeling a bit like I did post-surgery, even liquids are satisfying. I know from the stories I've heard from my fellow band ladies that I don't want to be overfilled though so I'll keep an eye on it and let you all know. Needless to say, I do not desire any cookies right now. ;-)

Oh, one other thing. I've noticed this at every fill but always forget to blog about it. Does anyone else get lightheaded right after your fill? I lay down for my fills, takes the doc about 30 seconds to get my fill done and I sit up. When I sit up, lightheaded and a bit drunky feeling for a couple of minutes. Weird. Anyone else?

  2. My fill doc says not to drink or eat for three hours before a fill. I'd say give it a day or so.

  3. Yes, yours was one of them. Thanks for the insight. :) :)

And I hope that your fill level is okay.

    Thinking about you!

  4. Hey there! That sucks about hot IT guy! On the fill note, I don't feel that way after I get one. I just feel normal.

Be careful with that fill, lady! :) I thought it sounded like you were too tight earlier b/c it seemed like you were getting stuck easily. Maybe switch to hot coffee in the morning?

  5. I didn't feel drunky or dizzy after my fill. It does make me a bit nauseated for a bit though. I really hope you aren't overfilled, maybe it will settle down. Maybe it was just the morning tightness.

  6. I hope the fill works out for you, just be careful. At least the cookies are safe for awhile.
I don't think I've been dizzy right after a fill.

  7. No I am ok after a fill but have been a little hungrier after this one....perhaps it is TOM and food slipping through the band easier. Take care and I hope your are not overdone
