Tough Eating Day

Well, I'm finding myself to be very hungry lately. It's interesting how when this band is really working, we lose the desire to eat (or at least if I'm busy I find that I lose my focus on food), and I think because of that lack of desire I convince myself subconciously that I've been cured of this overeating thing I used to do. Today, I found that not to be true.

I had an iced coffee and a protein bar for breakfast
1/2 a cobb salad wrap for lunch
Hummus and crackers this afternoon
1/2 small piece of lasagna for dinner

I know this doesn't sound horrible, but I haven't yet mentioned the FOUR cookies I had today. And people, I'm not talking oreo's, I'm talking store bought sized cookies. I learned today that I cannot buy two chocolate chip cookies and two oatmeal raisin cookies and think that I'm not going to eat them all in one day. It just doesn't work for me. The band helps, but it doesn't stop the brain.

I'm really thankful that I have a fill on Thursday, I'm hoping that will help curb the hunger that I'm feeling lately. GRRR...

  2. Good days and bad days, right? What I'm learning from you and the rest of the bandsters out there is that the band isn't a cure, just a tool. When you don't use it, you just pick it up tomorrow.

  3. Having a similar issue with Cadbury Creme Eggs. Just because they're sold in a four-pack doesn't mean it's a good idea to buy them. I've had three today. Sigh. Tomorrow is a new day. Hang in there.

  5. Damn cookies.. who invented them.. you just mentioned oreo's and I my mouth started to water. Outside of the cookies, you did have a good eating day.. maybe only buy 1 next time or give the other three to someone and ask them to hid them. I know I am not cured of the overeating or stress eating...Your still doing well so hang in there..

  6. Ack. You sound JUST like me!! I'm going through the same thing - I just want the hunger gone again. Come Thursday - get some fill - and be back in the zone again. Fingers crossed for you.

  7. I had 8 oreos last night. (Shhhh! Don't tell anyone else..haha)
Today I was back on track.
I know what you mean though...it's true. Proper restriction helps me stop looking for and obsessing about food. Unless it's TOM and Lordy, even the band can't help me then. Well, it does. Most of the time it stops me from eating as much of it as I want to.
Is there *anything* that can help with that? Do they still do shock therapy? I think I need that. Reach for a cookie - get zapped. Ouch! Reach for a cookie - get zapped. Ouch! Yep, that's what I need! I wonder how many times it would take for me to quit reaching for the dang cookie??

  11. Jen, I have my fill on Friday, dang, we miss each other again!
If you have time to stop down by my office, email me... I'll tell you where I am, but it is not the same building as your doc.

Anyhow: I am really looking forward to that 'loss of focus on food'-- that has completely evaporated for me. I have hope that it will return with the right fill.
    Good luck on Thursday (tomorrow!)

  12. I would have eaten those cookies too! I am terrible with getting things and thinking that I am not going to eat all of them, save some for tomorrow. I pretty much eat it all by the end of the day. Ugh! Tomorrow is another day, you are certainly correct about that! But, overall you food doesn't sound that bad (with the exception of cookie number two, three and four!). You always seem to have a handle on the food part. Good luck with your fill! <3
