Scale hit the lowest yet this morning. Down to 187.4! That's nearly 96 pounds in a little over 8 months. HOLY $!^#. Note to self: Read this post when you're stalled on the scale...
I'm taking a piece from Cara's post. Since there are many newbie bandsters to our ranks, she thought it would be important to redirect people back to her earlier posts just after surgery so that people could learn from her experience. I think this is a fantastic idea and so I've decided to steal the trend. I was banded on August 7, 2009 and started my preop diet (all liquids with two cups of veggies a day..ugh) on July 20, 2009. If you go back to the beginning of August, you'll be able to catch up on how things started for me. Good luck to all of you who are coming up to surgery! For those of you researching, it is honestly the best decision I have ever made. It's not easy and definitely requires your desire to change, but it's been absolutely amazing and for me the right answer.
Well, it's freezing here today!! Woke up to 29 degrees, at the end of March. REALLY? My pregnant bff Liz is coming into the city this afternoon for lunch and a movie. She lives about 45 minutes away in Connecticut. I'm excited to see her and catch up! Tomorrow I have brunch with another fantastic friend who I haven't seen since before surgery (our schedules have just been crazy). She is a designer, an amazing friend and has bags upon bags of clothes for me. Now, Barb is likely a 10/12 at her highest, so these clothes won't likely fit yet, but the store in my closet stops at a 14. I still wear some 16's but they are mostly too large. I'm pretty much in a solid 14 now, so another 10/15 pounds and I'm hoping to be in a 12. OMG, I cannot believe I just typed that...CRAZY!!!!!!!!
My lowest in my adult life is .9 pounds from now. I weighed 186.5 on July 8, 2003. Before that I think I weighed 185 in my early teens. Will be so amazing to see 186.5, then 185, than 179. I think the entire upper west side of NYC will hear the screaming and celebrating on that day!
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!

I think I told you before, but my lowest weight in several years was in 2003 too (and July at that). It's neat to me that we are re-experiencing that together at the same time (in 2010) too.

ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend Jen and enjoy catching up with your friends and your new smaller wardrobe!!!
ReplyDeleteSo Awesome! I am hoping another 15lbs will drop me to a 12, but I am just like you. My closet only has 3 size 12 pieces of clothing. I am gonna have to break down and shop a little, not that I don't love to do that...just hate to spend money on transition clothes. Will get those tops to you soon, tune in tomorrow for the next 2 baskets of clothes!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! You should be so proud of yourself!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Jen... I'm stoked, thrilled and smiling a big smile for you all in one. To be at your lowest weight is the best feeling in the world. You're just going from strength to strength.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out too. Lets hope between the two of us a few newbies will go back and look and hopefully get some ideas on the highs and lows... xxxx
PS Have fun with your girlfriend today.
UNREAL! You are a band machine Girl! I am hoping for a size 12 in another 10 pounds or so. But I feel so stalled! Hopefully soon....
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
I have had the opportunity to follow most of your journey and just want to say "way to go" and thanks for sharing. It helps us all.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing sooo good, I can't believe it, we were banded at nearly the same time and you're creeping up on 100 lost...so happy for you!
