So, I think I'm going to wait this one out. I just need to eat much less food and perhaps wait a while in between. For example, yesterday I had veggie chili with beans for lunch (it's a staple for me, so easy, so yummy). I served myself about 3/4 of a cup with some reduced fat cheddar and reduced fat sour cream. I ate about 1/2 of it and was full. I put it back in the fridge for about an hour or so and then ate the rest. So I got the full amount, but just needed to do it in segments. Not sure if that will be true for everything, but it worked yesterday. I just heated some chili for lunch at work and same thing, ate about 1/4 of it this time, and I'm done. So seems like I can get much less in my body now. I may be able to get more in, but am freaked about getting stuck, so the waiting an hour and eating more if I'm hungry may be the way to go for now.
Interestingly, I went to dinner with a girlfriend last night to one of my Upper West side fav's, Calle Ocho. I ordered off the appetizer menu and was still on mushies. They have this amazing sweet corn empanada stuffed with goat cheese. It comes on a bed of the most amazing red and yellow tomatoes with a balsimic and garlic reduction. The empanada is the size of my palm. I ate nearly the entire thing, leaving about 3 bites. Took me a good 30 minutes to eat, but it was wonderful and I didn't feel too tight at all.
So, I'm going to keep the fill as is for now. We'll see how Thanksgiving goes and if I get tighter as time goes by. Thanks for everyone's comments!!
p.s. I've gotten a few requests for tips on how I've gotten the weight off so far. I think I'll vlog about that tonight! Won't be nearly as fabulous as Amy's four part miniseries...which if you haven't seen yet...well that would just be silly!! Go now!

HA! I think it is good to remember that we are on the high end of the weight loss spectrum. I lose sight of this on the weeks I am not losing, but I like your idea of giving tips! Sometimes I just feel like I am in place to give tips when I have weeks that I gain 5 pounds :)...but I must be doing something right the other times. I look forward to hearing yours!

ReplyDeleteIt's nice to know I'm not the only one struggling with with my restriction. I can eat so much more in the evenings than in the morning. I think for me I struggle mentally with portions, I think I was just trying to eat too much. My dr. says to eat 1/2-1 cup portions, but mentally I don't feel it is enough food. Looking forward to your vlog!!!

ReplyDeleteI think sticking with the restriction is the way to go - if you're anything like me (big sigh...) it will loosen over time. Just ride that wave until that day comes - then it's time for another fill.
You seriously sound though, like you have a great handle of how yours is working and are using it sensibly. Nice going.
