Oh and one hell of a bruise!! All that poking left me with a lovely rasberry colored bruise at my port site. Reminds me of those days just after surgery...oh so long ago. ;-)
Lost 1.2 overnight, I'm at 240...oh so close to those 230's. And I definitely have restriction. I'm struggling at my client's to figure out what to eat. I was up at 4:45 this morning after a horrible night's sleep, in a car by 5:45 and in Boston by 8:30. Frank the nurse told me not to drink anything before climbing on the plane so I didn't. I didn't feel a difference flying, but of course I wasn't drinking or eating anything, so who knows for sure. I finally got something to "eat" at 11:30. I bought a V8 and a yogurt. I've never had a V8, so I wasn't sure if I'd like it and while I know yogurt isn't a liquid, the soup choices were creamy chicken with rice and chili. Hmmm.... I had 1/4 of the V8 and 1/4 of the yogurt (over about 30 minutes) and then threw both out. It's now 3:30, I'm hungry so I'm drinking a chocolate milk...ummm YUMMY! I know it's not great, but it's got 16 grams of protein in it and I've had maybe 100 calories so far today. I definitely feel restriction. I get about 3 sips in of the milk and then have to stop for about 5 min when I can drink again. Can't wait to see what real food is like. I'm back on mushies tomorrow!
I'm dying at my client's right now. Literally flew here to participate in a one hour meeting that was cancelled after I got here. So now I'm stuck waiting for my client to review something so that I can get out of here! My car is picking me up at 5pm, so hopefully she gets back to me soon.....I need to go to bed.
Hope you are all great!

So jealous! I am in full-on Bandster Hell, able to eat everything in sight, constantly hungry, and just one tube of Pringles away from going over the edge! (Well, not really, after the past few days I am back to protein, protein, protein!) Can't wait for my first fill!
ReplyDeleteI responded to your point about nothing being off limits and portion control on my blog...Basically, I am at the point now where it is as if I have no band - hungry, cravings, ability to overeat. So it is no different than before - I know I need to limit my portions, but I am not so good at it in this hungry, unrestricted state! Until I get some restriction and get the hunger under control I absolutely need to stay away from trigger foods like crackers and chips!
Anyway, you are doing great! This fill should bring you many happy trips to the scale!
OOOOhhhh so jealous (in the good, supportive way!)
ReplyDeleteI want restriction like that!!!
Okay, now that I have gotten that off my chest I will attempt to actually be supportive :-)
when I had my fill on Sat I was tight on Sat and Sun but by monday the wee bit of swelling was gone (remember I am the queen of swelling) and while I know I still have restriction it is not as noticably tight.
Was that how it was for you with your first fill?
Will it happen again for you?
Are you so tight that you can only get liquids down or do you think once you can have mushies and solids again yo will be able to eat them?
And 5.1 ccs- right?
Amazing a small fill could make that much difference!!
You go girl! Hope you get home soon so you can snooz (after you spend some quality time with the pets, of course).
You got the nurse I refer to as "Nurse Roughstuff" . . after one experience with him (which left me bruised and worried that he was messing up my port), I refuse to let him do my fills. Dr. Ren does it in 2 seconds, with no poking, no prodding and basically no pain. I hear that the other nurse is good, too.
ReplyDeleteToday was my 3rd fill and I feel like I'm going to explode after eating about 3/4 of a cup of yogurt. I'm sensing this is the sweet spot, we'll see in a few days when I go back to regular foods! Just pray I'm not TOO tight. good luck to you as well!
ReplyDeleteJen- Im sorry to hear that your exp with frank was not good. I'm now questioning having booked my appt with him. I wonder how we can book the fills with the surgeon's??
ReplyDeleteI'm super glad that you're feeling restriction, please let us know what it's like with real food !! i cant imagine eating only a 1/4..WOW !!
Let me know when your up for a wii challange ??
