Despite the cold, I had a great weekend! Went to my friend Liz's in Connecticut yesterday afternoon. She picked me up from the train and we went straight to lunch. She was in the mood for a burger, so we went to a 50's diner called Lucky's. I had a cheeseburger (sans bread) with grilled onions. It was pretty good. I also had three sweet potato fries - those were better! ;-)
We left there and went to the mall so that I could get a few new things. I had cashed in some credit card points for $125 in Macy's gift cards. The Macy's there is small and the plus size department was ridiculous. Barely any clothing, honestly looked like 1/2 the floor was being replaced. I still ended up with a new pair of black pants (size 20), a black and white sleeveless ruffled shirt - good under a blazer, and a great black and white striped Jones of NY sweater. The sweater was originally $129 and I got it for $30, so that was great!
After a little shopping we stopped for TCBY (my favorite frozen yogurt and they don't have any in the city). Ordered a kids size white chocolate mousse with some mini m&m's. First time in two months that I had any chocolate. But after finishing my yogurt, I was stuffed! There clearly hadn't been enough time between eating the burger patty and having the yogurt (probably about 2 hours)....was not a fun feeling. It went away within the hour which was nice since we had massages later in the afternoon. Massage was great and here comes the NSV....typically when I get massages, I have to stuff my hands under my thighs in order to keep my arms on the table and be comfortable. Yesterday, no need. I fit on the table, arms at my sides...absolutely no problem!
Last night we had more meat for dinner - pulled pork which I had about 1/4 cup of and had no problems with and about 1/2 of a baked potato. I skipped dessert. The nice thing with yesterday was that I could eat everything with no problems, choices weren't difficult and nobody had to go out of the way to get me something special to eat.
I have my second fill tomorrow which I'm excited about. Hoping for better restriction. I definitely feel like I have a little bit now, but not enough and the head hunger has been raging. Back to couch to 5k tomorrow night after the fill, to Boston on Tuesday for work - first flight since being banded.

Great NSV, I love it. The massage table! Good luck with that fill. I am counting down the days for my first fill! I need it!
ReplyDeleteDid your massage hurt your port? I would love to get a massage but recently banded 8/24
ReplyDeleteLet me know what it's like with flying!
Awesome NSV, I was so excited when I had my same experience!
ReplyDeleteNicole, I work in a spa and prob got my first massage about 5 weeks post op - try lying down on your stomach on the floor (bed would be softer than a massage table, floor will be harder so a good test) and if that doesn't hurt, then go for it, if that does, wait another week or so.
Hi Nicole, I want to apologize for my double entry as a new follower. I had attempted to add my photo & it wouldn't work, so I tried it again a second time, still didn't work! Finally, my husband told me how to do it. Unfortunately, I am unable to delete the extra one!
ReplyDeleteGreat NSV!
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't wait until I can unwedge my arms and just lay on the table properly...congratulations on your NSV!
