How I'm Doing

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I'm having a lovely day with my mom! Woke up and watched a bit of the Today show, opened our stockings from Santa...he believes I should be eating Snickers and Tootsie Rolls. TOTALLY works for me! ;-) We are watching The Grinch movie now and opened gifts. I got my mom tickets to a few shows for Christmas (we go see A little night music tomorrow with Catherine Zeta Jones and Angela Landsbury). Mom got me a few pairs of great earrings and gift cards to Macy's, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic and JCrew. It was exactly what I wanted and needed. While I'm not sure I can use the last two yet, it will just be a few months before I'll be shopping there and will be great to have the cards to use then! It's so exciting to know that I'm so close to getting back to where I was five years ago....shopping at normal stores, and buying cute stuff! Mom's boyfriend got me a great table for my laptop that sits on your lap. I'm using it right now and it's perfect. It also has a fan in it so that if your laptop is getting to hot, you can cool it down. Great idea! The gifts are great and don't get me wrong, I LOVE PRESENTS, but getting to spend Christmas with my mom is absolutely the best gift.

We're heading to see "Up in the Air" with my friend Julia at 1pm today. We went to Whole Foods yesterday and bought pre-made food to eat today. Mom chose asparagus and mozzarella stuffed shells for her. I chose chicken cordon bleu and mashed potatoes for me. It's a hilariously huge piece of chicken so I will cut it into many pieces and heat in the oven. Will likely last a couple of meals.

One of my clients sent me a Mrs. Prindable carmel apple this week. Not sure if you've ever tried one but they are incredible. My dad and I used to get one before Christmas each year. They are HUGE...seriously I can't imagine what growth hormones they must use to make these apples so huge...but they are amazing. The apples are crisp and sweet and yummy and HELLO they are slathered in carmel and three types of chocolate. It's great, we cut it into many little pieces and put them in sandwich bags. They are great treats for the movies, or just a little nosh of chocolate here and there.

My Christmas goal was 205 and I hit 205.6 this morning. I'll take that! I plan to eat whatever I want to eat today, just do so in a way that is me making choices and not just popping things into my mouth because they are there.

Hope that you all have a fantastic holiday with your families! xoxo

  6. That apple looks absolutely sinful! I have never heard of them before, maybe they are an East Coast brand?

Anyway, great news on the weight loss! I agree, eat what you want in limited quantities & don't graze!

    Hope your day was fantastic!

  7. Wow - I swear you guys in the States have the MOST interesting food - I have never seen a candy apple like that one - it's just beautiful (and deadly calorie wise I would imagine.)
