I just got back from a lovely Christmas Eve dinner with my fantastic mom! She came into town yesterday as I decided that I wanted to do Christmas at home this year. One of my Christmas presents to her was the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I've seen it before and while traditional and great to see the Rockettes, I don't know that I would call it spectacular. Regardless, I thought our tickets were for 4:00pm, so we went to Whole Foods, got food for Christmas Day and then got ready for the show. I pulled the tickets out of the drawer I had carefully secured them in, and read to make sure I had the right day...indeed the tickets were for Dec 24th. Then I checked the time....2pm. OMG, it was 3:15 at this point. So, we raced to Radio City, I called Ticketmaster and after far too much negotiating, mom and I were seated in the back row of the orchestra. Not as great as the seats we were supposed to have, but good enough.
After the show we went to Isabella's, a great restaurant near me on the Upper West Side. I ordered a glass of pinot grigio and had the Mahi Mahi. It was so yum! I can't believe how much I've been missing out on by not eating fish all of these years. I had a second glass of wine and mom and I shared an apple crisp. Needless to say, I'm now a bit drunky. With this band, two glasses of wine is like drinking an entire bottle. CRAZY!
We're watching Miracle on 34th street now (and yes it's the newer version, that Dylan McDermott is just dreamy). Tomorrow we're off to see "Up in Air" with my friend Julia. Other than that, we just plan on having a lovely Christmas day inside watching movies and eating yummy food.
Hope you are all having a fabulous Christmas Eve!!
xoxo
