I'm kicking back tonight. My band was tight today which I'm sure was due to stress. I had two iced coffees this morning to get me going - haven't done that in a long time. Had about five bites of salad with grilled chicken for lunch and a protein bar at 4pm. Had some nuts with crackers and hummus for dinner and 1/2 a cheese stick. Drinking a lovely glass of pinot grigio right now and feeling a bit drunky. That lovely "Oh, I'm sleeping good tonight" kind of feeling. I've been in the office at 8 each morning so it will be great to sleep in tomorrow.
I've got to do some clothes shopping tomorrow which sucks a bit because I'm seriously low on money. I've had a significant amount of health bills lately due to the thyroid and lap band surgery and so I'm feeling a bit cash poor. In addition, I have to shell out $250 for camp next week for little Lucy. So frustrating that my company won't let me expense that. I figure I've spent about $3,000 to put in her daycare this year while I've traveled for work. I really need a boyfriend....to take care of my dog!! ;-) Complaining aside my pants (new ones) are falling off of me, and I'm not quite in the pants that Catherine gave me yet. Probably 10 more pounds and I'll be there. So, off to Filene's basement I go tomorrow. I've got a 15% off coupon so that should help!
I have a great weekend planned. Working and cleaning the apartment tomorrow morning and afternoon plus a bit of shopping. Tomorrow night going to a Christmas concert at St. John the Divine with two fantastic girlfriends. Then Sunday brunch with the NYC bandsters. I'm super excited to meet those of you that are coming and excited to see Jacqui! We haven't seen each other since our first fill! Also excited to see our skinny friend Catherine...7 pounds from goal, simply amazing!
Okay, most recent news. I keep saying that I want to get to Onederland before I do any internet dating. Well, I decided to just get over it and check out eharmony last night. It's pretty expensive, so I'm going to wait until later in the month to officially join, but I've already got matches coming to me (just can't see pictures until I pay). YEAH for boys!! Oh and IT boy - his name is Jason, and he's beautiful - walked by my office today. Door was closed, but he glanced in. I saw him in the hall and I asked about about his gig (he's the lead singer for a band), he said "Oh, I stopped by earlier this week but you weren't around". That's right ladies...he's seeking me out! ;-) Did I mention that he has tattoos up and down both arms? Can't imagine where else!! (Sorry mom!) Did I also mention that I think he's probably about 28? I'll be 37 on the 22nd of this month....Cougar....
I hear ya sister, got get the younger man!!! I need to go clothes shopping too, the only problem is I also need to go Christmas shopping as well. I am so jealous that you have Filene's, no such luck here. Hope work goes well for you, vaca is coming soon.
ReplyDeleteyou go cougar! :)
ReplyDeletelol Cougar or not - he sounds damn hot! I don't blame you..
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've had a busy busy time of it.. but all is good in the world huh.
Enjoy your weekend :)
Hahaha I love you. Go get em, Tiger!
ReplyDeleteOh and I'll come puppy-sit for you anytime. My flight to NYC wouldn't be quite as much as that camp!
Jen,
ReplyDeleteWhere in Boston will you be staying? I am in southern NH.
MEOW! lol
Dang girl, you are busy! I LOVE hearing the boy stories, it takes me back to my "player" days. I totally remember the excitement of dating, so I love hearing you single ladies talk about it!
ReplyDeleteAngie - if only you could be here next week!! I'll keep it in mind for my next trip though.
ReplyDeleteNicole - My client is actually in Maynard and I'm staying in Waltham, so just flying in and out of Boston. I'll be back in January, and may stay in Boston that time. I'll let you know!
Jen- cougar funny. And, i did the match.com and eharmony thing first and found my lovely man on a free site, www.plentyoffish.com. I will say that most people try them all, I know I saw some of the match peeps on both, so why not go free first! I'm pretty lucky to have him and my girls to do the dog sitting here, I know how difficult it can be without a local support system. Good luck on the shopping trip and enjoy your brunch.
ReplyDeleteIT guy meets my 10 year rule so I say don't count him out. But then there are plenty other fishies out there just waiting to be caught and thrown back :-) You need to have some fun for a while.
ReplyDeleteWhat works for Demi Moore can certainly work for you! Go for whomever you like. :-)
ReplyDeleteI understand the waiting on internet dating, I always wanted to look my best for putting myself out there-- if you can wait 1 more month, you'll hopefully have some more funds back in your coffers and a few more pounds off so you'll feel super confident about going into the dating scene.
I just stumbled upon your blog today. I am so envious of your courage to change your life. I want so badly to do it myself. I can't wait to read about your journey! I wish you only the best. PS My husband was 26 living in a small NJ town I had never heard of when we met online - I was 30 living in Manhattan. I never thought we'd be married the night we met F2F.
ReplyDeleteOh yay on the IT guy thing! I love tattoos! And Cougarville, here you come! You sure don't look 37 so I'd say you could easily date guys in their 20's! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteRAWARRRR!!
ReplyDelete(That's my cougar call).
Go Jen, go! Sounds like it's stress but good stress and the break will be even sweeter because of it.
I always wondered what you did with Lucy when you travel, now I know!
More pics soon please- are you in size 14 now going on 12?
I have loved reading your blog. You are going great guns and another inspiring blog to add to the list. I was banded on Monday in Sydney Australia. Can I add your blog to my sidebar???
ReplyDeleteThanks GB
