Anyway before I debrief my weekend I wanted to back up. I mentioned in a previous post that I had was going out with a friend from college that I hadn't seen in 10 years and was considering it a nice practice date. I've been asked for an update..so...he was cuter than I remember. We had a good time, couple of drinks, lots of reminiscing. At the end of the day it was a good time but a) he's been dating a girl for about three months and b) he checked his phone for the first half an hour to deal with a work thing. He works for a hedge fund and has a crazy job where he works for a million hours a week but it was still annoying!!
Back to this weekend. I had a lovely time. We went to water-fire last night which is a celebration of sorts downtown. They light mini bon fires all along the river, play gorgeous music and there is lots of food and drink. I had a great time with my friends. It's always great when you have the opportunity to see friends that are so dear yet you don't get to see enough. Today we watched football and were completely lazy. On the food front: my friend rich mentioned how slow I ate. That was it! Last night I had a small piece of flat bread pizza. Today I was able to get out of breakfast by saying I wasn't feeling great. By 1 I was hungry, had some crackers and yogurt. Rich made potstickers for lunch. I had some of those and got stuck. Ugh. But nobody noticed, I used the bathroom upstairs and all was well.
Hope you all had great weekends!! I cannot wait to get home to my bed!!!

Nice to hear you had a good time with an old friend. I have to admit, I am one of those people that gets REALLY irked by people who are constantly on their phone. It's like, seriously, rude in my eyes. I just want to yank it out of their hands and throw it in the nearest river. Either that or tell them "Let's reschedule when you aren't so busy!"
ReplyDeleteI don't like cell phones in general but I HATE it when people use them at the dinner table. Whether out at a restaurant or home, I think it's rude. Glad you had a good time. That fesstival thing looks really fun!
