I completed the Challenge tonight! 3.5 miles. I don't have my official time yet, but I'm thinking it's just under an hour. **edit: official time 54:13. WHOO HOO! I ran some parts but walked most of it. Had a really nice time, but it was hard. I'm feeling it now, and I'm sure tomorrow will be worse. But it was amazing to cross the finish line. It was amazing to be in the sea of people and my first race bib will hang on my refrigerator for as long as I live in this apartment! My friend took pictures of us before the race so as soon as I have, I'll post.
I also signed up for boot camp today! I start on Monday, and it's three times a week for the next three weeks in Central Park. I'm terrified, but also hopeful that it will get my muscles bulging. I've done great on the weight loss but have done nothing in the weight training zone and have sagging skin that I need to tone. This boot camp is few people per class, meets right on the corner of my block and is for all fitness levels. So, I'm hopeful!
Dreading the moment my feet hurt the floor tomorrow, I imagine it will be painful. BUT, at least the pain means I did something good today. Ha...what a twisted thought!

ReplyDeleteAwesome! I am a so proud of you! Are you doing Stacey's Boot Camp?! I did that a few years ago and loved it. I did two three week sessions in a row and it was right outside where you live so that should be convenient! There are times that you will meet somewhere else - but it was always on CPW!
ReplyDeleteWOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! That is so fantastic, and I'm psyched that you're going to do BC!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! That's a big, crowded race to do, with a lot of Type A's ready to cut you if you get in their way. Bask in the glory of it, and enjoy looking at your race bib every day. Yayyyy Jenny!

ReplyDeleteYipppeeeeee for crossing that finish line. Boot Camp sounds rough but anything has got to be at least a little fun in Central Park. Hubby (then just boyfriend) and I were there for the huge snow storm in February, 4 or 5 years ago...can't remember exactly but NYC got something like 14 inches of snow in two days. It was awesome.
