Day One - Check!

Attempting to write this from my blogger app so hopefully this works! Day One - Operation Recommitting done! I had a good, motivated eating day yesterday. However, It was not without it's struggles (changing bad habits never is). I was hungry at 9pm but stayed in bed and drank water.

I got up very late yesterday - had an allergic reaction to something the night before so I took two Benadryl. Cue to sleeping for 11 hours!! This meant a very late breakfast which made me end the day at 28 WW points instead of the 33 I was supposed to have. I think being back to work and my normal routine will help me to get to those 33 with no problem at all. I had a snack of hummus and cucumbers around 4pm and then made Dan and I a healthy chicken and veggie stir fry with brown rice for him - no rice for me - and a salad. Dessert was two peppermint patties. Drank lots of water!

Started today with iced coffee and yes creamer, but I tracked the points and am currently eating some Fage 2% Greek yogurt with fresh strawberries and blueberries. I plan to have salad for lunch and brought a banana along with hummus and cucumbers for a snack. Main goal for today is getting my butt to the gym and beginning a new 5k learning to run program. I figure it's a good way to ease in since it will have me doing that for 30 mins followed by some abs and stretching. Not a horrible time commitment which is usually my excuse for not going.

    I live in NYC too, and wondered if you might be interested in trying to pull together about half a dozen people who are working to stay on track with weight/eating/exercising/health for a weekly or every-other-week in-person group meeting. Nobody has to be doing the same thing as anybody else. I thought we could all publicly commit to whatever our individual goals might be, and then support and hold one another accountable for whatever steps we commit to take from meeting to meeting. I know everybody's schedules are crazy but figured I'd put the idea out there. We could even try it for just the winter and then re-evaluate. --Barbara

  2. I'm wishing you luck! Also, I am SO stoked to hear you have a BF! I bet he's adorable. And he has to be pretty awesome to be dating you!

    Finally, and this is kind of me just writing out loud -- it kind of sounds like you are on a diet. Ugh. I said it. It scares me. Because I thought I was done with diets when I got the band. Granted, I have better weeks than others but mostly, I haven't dieted since I was banded almost 2 years ago now (yikes!). My question is, does your band have the right restriction? I just have to wonder. When did you last have it checked with a barium swallow? Just wondering...

    Good luck regardless. I'm totally rooting for you and I most definitely want to see photos of this boyfriend. STAT!
