Friday was my last day at my former company. It was a good day, made easier by the fact that my two closest girlfriends at work weren't there. Would have made it much harder if they were moping around with me. I was really busy trying to finalize everything, and finished just at 5:30, so that helped keep my mind off of things. A bunch us went out to a sushi place for drinks to celebrate my last day. This was great except that I don't eat sushi. Bad decision #1: Didn't eat any food. Bad decision #2: accepting homemade Columbian drinks from hot IT boy before even going out Bad decision #3: drinking way too many martini's all leading to bad decision #4: admitting to hot IT boy that I thought he was hot. Oh, alcohol...WHY??
Good news is that I think that this feeling I have had is somewhat mutual. Yes, he has a girlfriend, but it was nice to hear that if he didn't things would likely have been different.
Oh, My HR friend M...if you're reading this, you are now in the circle of trust my friend!!
Enter my friend M everyone. I've been acquaintances with M at work for a while. She is an absolutely lovely individual, who works in a different area of the business so we haven't interacted often. She was so kind to come to my goodbye party Friday night and ensure that I got into a cab and then home safely. Imagine my surprise when M and I get to talking and I learn that she has a lapband. Did I mention, she is also my age, sings and not originally from NYC? I, of course, immediately gave her my blog address and will definitely be inviting her to the next NYC bandster brunch so that she can meet my lovely NYC bloggers.
Which reminds me. NYC bandster brunch. Sunday July 25th 12:30, Dos Caminos on 50th and 3rd avenue. Kristin and I are in so far, let me know who else can make it and I'll make the reservation. It's been a while and I miss your faces!!
Well, I'm off for a week which is exciting. First day at the new job is Monday the 19th. Nervous, but excited for this next new adventure.
Hope you are all great. I'm sending many thoughts Catherine's way. Hope your mom is feeling much better now that you are by her side. xoxo
