How I'm Doing

Hello!

Hi All -

It's been nearly a year since I've posted here. It's amazing how quickly time goes by! Things are good with me. Work is still crazy, but great. Dan and I moved in together in September and while the beginning was tough (co-habitating after living alone for 6 years is really hard!) it's been really great. He's amazing and fun and my relationship with his daughter is excellent!

After gaining about 40 pounds from my lowest (which I think I held for a day), I've maintained at around 212 for two years. I'm ready to start focusing on eating well and being healthy and my hope is that I will get back to about 170 which I think will be a great weight for me. I started Weight Watchers yesterday at lunch (had a donut for breakfast which added 10 points I didn't need!), however I did really well today and actually ate two less than my points. I didn't do it on purpose, but got stuck on salad tonight - simple case of eating too fast. I'm trying to cut out wine at home for a while (eek), however I'll still allow myself the treat when I'm out. My band still works, but I don't think I'm in the zone since I still get hungry between meals and can eat more food than I should be able to. I'm overdue for an appt to check in anyway, so I'll look to schedule one this month.

Three last things.

My grandmother (who loved my blog) had a stroke at the end of December. She is in a rehab center now and doing well. They told her she is an inspiration to the other patients there and believe she will have a full recovery. Nevertheless, if you are the praying kind, I'd appreciate any you can send up for her.

We lost our beloved family dog, Bandit, to cancer on Saturday. She was my mom's dog, we had her for 14 years and she was indeed a best friend. Her picture is below (she's the big one on the left). I know that she's romping around up there with my dad, and that they are happy together so that at least brings a smile to my face.

Lastly, an updated photo of Dan, Hailey and I over Christmas!

  3. Great to hear from you! And love your love life/kid update. So sorry about your grandmother. Don't sweat the few extra pounds, they will leave in time. Its way harder when you live with others! Best to you and your lovely crew!

  4. Thank God I have you on Facebook or I would have no idea what is going on in your life! You guys should take a vacation to Pensacola Beach this summer. Make it happen. I am sorry about your grandma. I hope she recovers and is reading your blog again very soon. The loss of your dog hurts my heart. My "pappy" is 14 years old as well...and time is catching up with him. I can't imagine.

I am glad you are happy. I loved living alone. It's a full-time job living with someone! But totally worth it.

    kisses

  8. Gosh I've missed you... I've got you beat as far as how long it's been since I posted but I still read at least once a week and I think of you all the time. So sorry about your grandma and the loss of the pup but I couldn't be happier about the life you're making for yourself with Dan and Hailey.
