Amazing Day...But Super Tight Band

I have Monday off, so decided to make it a super long weekend and take yesterday off as well. I rented a z-car, cool concept here in the city. I have a free membership through my company so I just pay when I use one of the cars for as cheap as $7 an hour, gas is included - they leave a gas card in the car. It's awesome. So I picked one up three blocks from my apartment and crossed the bridge into Jersey. 20 minutes later I was a half hour early for my massage appointment. I read some of my book and just relaxed, then was treated to an amazing 90 minute massage.

After that I jumped back into my car and went to Target. Bought a new 12-cup coffee maker, four new white wine glasses, a set of rubbermaid Tubberware, and lots of odds and ends - dog treats for Lucy, nuts for me, etc. Here's the best part of doing this every once in a while. I bought planters mixed nuts in the huge target size, which is essentially double the size I get here at my grocery store. At my grocery store the small size is $8.99. At Target in Jersey I get double that size for $6.99. It's really ridiculous! Anyway, finally peeled myself away from Target and headed to Whole Foods. I got one of those little hummus/pretzel snack sets at Target so attempted to eat that while I was shopping. I got stuck on my thyroid pill in the morning and slimed coffee once I got to the massage so my band was clearly irritated. My pill is tiny, not larger than a birth control pill, but sometimes I think I gulp the water and stress about getting stuck and sure enough get stuck. Anyway, this meant I ate about two pretzels with a little hummus before I felt stuck again. Walked around Whole Foods, bought TONS of veggies and some yummy looking blueberries and strawberries which I thought would be great with my greek yogurt for breakfast and are FREE on WW!! Also bought some baby back ribs which I plan to slow cook with BBQ sauce and freeze in my new tubberware. ;-)

Came back into the city, dropped my loot, returned the car and now sit with a very lovely, full fridge and more toilet paper and paper towels that should fit in an NYC apartment! ;-)

I had some nuts and a handful of chips and got stuck. So I stopped eating. Had a birthday party last night, drank half a beer, GOT STUCK! So, needless to say, I came home at 7:30, drank water and fell into bed by 10. A great great day - minus the getting stuck part!

My days like this are far and few between, usually I can eat fine - even a little bread - with no problem, so I'm not worried. I was stressed this week trying to get everything done so that I could have a nice day off without thinking about work, so maybe it was that. I'm ovulating, so maybe it's that. Whatever it is, having one day of tight band hell is fine for the fact that I'm down 100+ pounds.

Great news - if you're still reading this. My aunt is considering surgery! She lives in Phoenix and mentioned a Dr. Simpson. Did any of you AZ bandsters use him? If not, who did you use - only if you LOVED them and would recommend? Thanks in advance!!

  3. Loooove your day!!! I love renting a car and doing shopping like that. it is such a great feeling of freedom, to see trees and I am so with you on how much cheaper things are! Plus, Target is my favorite store that just has everything! I can totally relate to you on being tight. I took y'day off too bc my Mom is in town. We ended up sleeping in late and going to a late lunch. I could do coffee and 2 bites of my salad..literally. was stuck. tried a hot dog later in the evening desperate to eat before a play..stuck. I think it was stress and throwing off my sleep schedule...like you though, I will take those days that are few and far between for all the great that has come! ok, i wrote a novel..have a great rest of the weekend!! can't wait till brunch!

  5. I had a Target day yesterday, too. Just once, I'd love to walk out of there without spending $200. :)

Glad you had a productive and fun day.

  6. I love days like that! Target is so much fun to wander around in, and buy random things in. It's so funny how exciting it is to do stuff like that when you live in the city.

I've been getting stuck a lot lately, too. I've had a very stressful month, but I am considering going in for a teeny unfill.

  7. I have used Dr. Simpson's website a lot, but I am not from AZ. He has probably the most useful information that I have found on the web! I have also read his books!

  8. Jenny, the one thing I could.not.wait. to do when we moved out of the city was buy cases and cases of paper towels and toilet paper. I couldn't get to Costco fast enough once we arrived in the 'burbs. Glad you had a great day, and sorry about the tight band. Hang in there!!

  11. Dr. Simpson is my doctor!!! I love him!! His aftercare is great...the insurance guy, Greg, is fantastic and he does all my fills himself. I'd recommend him to ANYONE! If your mom has any questions, feel free to email me.
