TMI..Read at your own risk...

Okay, so it's not that bad. But, this gets a tad bit personal. That being said, in this new world of losing a bunch of weight and feeling like a new person, it seems a natural (although not at all) next step.

I have an appointment for my first bikini wax tomorrow.

I'm scared. I'd back out if I hadn't put it on my credit card and have a 24 hour cancellation policy.

I know that in the end I'll be thrilled, but the anticipation already hurts.

I promise I'll post tomorrow after it happens (that is if I'm still alive). But for now, send me happy thoughts of no pain dreams at 6:30pm. Oh and does anyone have any xanex?? ;-)

On another FABULOUS note. My mom sent me a box of clothes today. She sent two blazers from her wardrobe. One a size 12 fits, the other a 10 fits, but won't button...yet. She sent a medium cashmere sweater (fits), a pair of large pj pants, a fleece jacket (l), a hoodie that she bought with me that I've coveted for years (small) and her velvety yummy barn jacket (totally fits). My mom is TEENY TINY. The fact that I'm wearing things from her wardrobe = FABULOUS, FANTASTIC...ACTUALLY F'ING PHENOMENOL!

Don't forget. 6:30 EST many good thoughts of no pain. xoxo

  1. congrats on the clothes! How exciting!!

As for the bikini wax, don't sweat it too much, it does hurt a little, but not as much as getting your legs waxed, which is weird. Remember, too, that they have seen thousands of coochies- good luck!

  2. I started getting Brazilians about 2 years ago, and was TERRIFIED before my first one. Just let your waxer know that it's your first, and they'll be gentle with you. Holding your skin taut helps, and I don't know how you are with pain, but pretending it's not happening helps me as well (it gets it over with faster!)

There's a chain in NYC called Shobha, that's where I go and it's fantastic. Very very clean, 3 locations, and I love it. As much as you can possibly love a place where you pay people to rip hair out of very sensitive areas.

Oh, and I've been going since long before I even seriously considered surgery, and they never made me feel self conscious about my weight...which is impressive since you're laying on a table with it all literally hanging out.

  3. Sending pain relieving thoughts your way...who would have thought that bikini waxing would be a side effect of weight loss, ha ha! Good for you for doing something for yourself. And yippee and wearing teeny tiny stuff--believe it!! :)

  6. I've never had a bikini wax, you are totally brave!!
Good for you... I've heard that taking a couple of ibuprofen an hour before can help. But I'd defer to the experts... whatever they think helps.

what a lovely gift from your mom... wonderful how things from her closet could be so much more meaningful to you than anything new she could have picked out.
